The 75th Australian Association Croquet Championships were officially launched on Tuesday evening by her Excellency, the Honourable Frances Adamson AC at Government House. The weather has been quite warm and the trend will continue for the remainder of the week.
Our opening Test yesterday was against NSW at North Adelaide. The matches were hard fought and although we never won, the team performed extremely well.
Some notable performances:
- Jeff Newcombe – 20th appearance for WA at the EIRE CUP
- Robyn Dart – making her debut and being the 102nd person selected to play for WA.
- Jennifer Brand – making her first ever 12 hoop break in a competition!
- Ian Dumergue – winning all three of his matches.
Today sees us travelling to Norwood to face a very strong South Australian team who had a commanding opening win against Tasmania – 19 matches to 1.
