Around the Courts – 13th February

Gomm Park GC Valentines Handicap Doubles

22 pairs lined up over the weekend for the annual Valentines Handicap Doubles event. This is a fantastic turnout and I’m sure the club was pleased with the great response. We had players from Narrogin, Como, Moorabinda, Katanning, Cambridge, Dunsborough and Belmont make the trip to beautiful Albany.

In a very close final, Alistair Potts and Barrie Stewart (Narrogin) defeated Karen Hall and David McFall (Katanning) 7/6.

Full results can be found on Croquetscores.

Acton Golden Mallet Mixed Doubles Championship

During the week, Cambridge held the Acton Golden Mallet Doubles Championship. You can find all the information about this event on the clubs Facebook page.

Loud Shirt Day

On Saturday, the members of Moorabinda all frocked up for Loud Shirt Day. A scrumptious meal of fish and chips was enjoyed by all after play.

ACA President’s Eights

It was great to see a strong field of players come together for the President’s Eights. Live streaming of Day 2 and 3 of the event was available and you would watch it at your leisure form the following link. https://livestream.com/mysportlive/events/10148448

It was a very tight competition with two of the eights determined by the final game of each block.

First Eight: Winner Kevin Beard (Yarrawonga), Runner-up Peter Freer (Canberra).

Second Eight: Winner Shane Downie (Traralgon), Runner-up Richard Parks (Monash).

Third Eight: Winner Kevin McGlynn (Canberra), Runner-up Mark Scruton (Canberra).
