Congratulations to Jeff Newcombe, who has made it through to the final 32 in the AC World Championships following the block round. Croquetwest would like to congratulate Ben Brown from Gosnells Croquet Club on being awarded a scholarship for Golf Croquet by the Australian Croquet Association.
A number of under age competitions playing different forms of Golf Croquet has been added to the calendar at Nedlands Croquet Club on the 18th March. Click here for all the details.
The One Day Open Singles was won by Torben Bak (Forrest Park) defeating Ben Brown (Gosnells) in the final after both had won all their block games.
As the event had attracted a large entry, the Ladies (unless they chose to play the Open) had a separate event. This was won by Kerry Loane (East Fremantle) from Wendy Pritchard (Cambridge) with Jill Nottle (Narrogin) in third.

There is a combined AC and GC tournament in Northern Tasmania at Easter. It commences on the 31st March and finishes on the 3rd April.

Fleur Brockway won the State GC Ladies’ Singles and Martin Clarke the GC Men’s Singles at Moorabinda last weekend. Dale Jury and Torben Bak were the respective runners-up.
Marty has been attending tournaments at Moorabinda for 24 years now, Fleur is 24!
There is a Gold Coast Tweed GC tournament to be held from 7th July to 20th July 2018. There are events to suit all levels of play. Gold Coast Tweed region is very attractive to all visitors in July so we look forward to seeing returning players plus welcoming new comers to this tournament.

A GC Event Survey was undertaken between March and May 2017. The survey was commissioned by Martin Clarke, Croquetwest Match Sub-Committee Coordinator. The prime purposes of the survey were:
• To get player feedback on what conditions various groups of players prefer in events; and
• To find out what type of events may increase participation in competitions.

Fleur Brockway has done her first ever triple peel, a TPO in the doubles block of the Victorian Open last week (croquetscores.com).
Fleur is the 30th player and 4th lady from WA to record a triple peel in recognised competition. Congratulations Fleur.
