MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE W.A.C.A. COACHING COMMITTEE HELD

AT HEAD QUARTERS  ON SATURDAY 21ST  MAY, 2005.        The meeting opened at 4.15pm.

Present:    Colin Chynoweth [Chairperson], Merle Barber [Secretary]. Sandra Stevenson, Martin Clarke, and Chris McWhirter [by invitation].

The minutes of the previous meeting had been distributed to the members, and the Chairman moved that the minutes be accepted.

GENERAL BUSINESS

Coaching Committee bylaws – Suggested by-laws will be drawn up by the Chairperson, and will be presented at the next meeting for discussion.

Coaching Committee members – Chris McWhirter attended the meeting by invitation, and it is hoped that he will volunteer to be a member of this Committee.

Budget – A 05/06 budget was viewed by the members and discussed at length.  This budget is to be presented to Management.

Planned activities  -   The Beginner Coaching Manual was reviewed to ensure that the Committee members made themselves familiar with the contents, and that the course was presented by all in a similar manner.  Coaching of beginner coaches is continuing, with Martin Clarke undertaking the training at Narrogin for Eric Ayling, Denise Watts and David Ward.

Sandra Stevenson will present  a course in Perth for Gillian Hopkins, Rhys Williams, Chell Lodge, Robyn Williams, Pat Zuvela and Wendy Prindiville.         Times and dates for these courses will be arranged by the instructors.

A contact to the Committee was made by Kelly Meyerkurt of the Challenge Stadium, with a wish that we provide tuition for 60 children at the Stadium.   The Chairman will contact Kelly, but it was decided that the members of the Committee just did not have sufficient time to carry out this programme.   The ages of the children ranged from 5 years upwards.  It was suggested that one of the city clubs might like to undertake this project.   More discussion will take place after contact has been made with Kelly.

The meeting closed at 5.25, with no date being set for the next meeting.
