W.A.C.A. COACHING COMMITTEE.
REPORT OF ACTIONS AND ACTIVITIES AS AT
DECEMBER 1ST, 2004.
As stated in our last report, our scheduled coaching activities have been postponed until after the New Year, but the following coaching has been carried out.
Sandra Stevenson assisted a few golf croquet players at Leederville, as they were anxious to improve their technique, and they were more than pleased with her efforts, and as a result of their enthusiasm, some other golf croquet players have requested help. Sandra will follow this up in the new year.
Kay & Colin Chynoweth – assisted by Brad Maguire – conducted three sessions of “intro to croquet” for 50 students from TAFE. This intro was part of the Sports’ Administration course, and was very well received. It will be interesting to see if any of these students will progress to become Association Croquet players. This has been a great opportunity to put croquet up front with the younger people.
Moorabinda Club requested that Merle Barber attend their club and hold a morning coaching session on openings, peg-outs and wise use of bisques. This session was carried out last Friday, and was very well received by the six participants.
Colin Chynoweth has organized a trip to Geraldton to conduct a ‘Beginner Coaching’ course for some of the club members who have shown an interest in becoming beginner coaches.
We have received a letter from Bill Roy advising the Coaching Committee that he no longer wishes to be recognised as a Level 1 Coach and has asked that we arrange for his de-registration.
We would like to thank Bill for his coaching efforts in the past.
Your Coaching Committee wishes you a safe holiday period and a prosperous 2005.
Secretary……..Merle Barber.
