MINUTES OF THE W.A.C.A. COACHING
COMMITTEE MEETING HELD AT NEDLANDS CROQUET CLUB ON SATURDAY 9TH JULY
2005.
The
meeting opened at 4.35 pm with Colin Chynoweth,
Sandra Stevenson, Merle Barber and Chris McWhirter
present. Apologies were received from
Martin Clarke.
GENERAL
BUSINESS.
- The Committee partly reviewed the Information
Package recently received from the National Coaching Director, and was
interested to see that now there is to be provision for coaches who do not
have the opportunity to provide coaching, and are unable to accumulate the
points necessary for re-accreditation.
Quote from the package The NCD, in consultation with
the SCDs, will grant accreditation for these
players if they attend a Beginner or Level 1 Coach Training course in croquet
specific subjects and attend 2 coach refresher course within the 4 years. This info package will be discussed
further at the next CC meeting.
- The matter of coaches
accreditation was discussed. i.e. does a coach remain qualified if they do not renew
their membership at their Club. The
CC decided that the coach does remain a coach, but at the end of the qualifiying period, it will be obvious that the coach
will not have accumulated the points necessary,
and therefore will not remain on the current coaching list. Secretary to write to the NCD and advise of the action taken by the CC.
- Coaching Clinics
..The Committee decided to
again conduct coaching clinics for coaches this season. There will be two clinics organized,
one in the day and one in the evening.
Date to be decided. Clinics
will be conducted in the City at HQ and possibly at Moorabinda
for country coaches. Coaches are
urged to attend in order to show on their log book that they are attending
the required workshops.
- Clinics for players will also be conducted in
the City and country, and dates will be decided for these clinics at our
next meeting.
- A budget for the Coaching Committee has been
submitted to the WACA.
The
meeting closed at 5.40pm, and the members were invited to attend the next CC meeting which will
be held at HQ on Friday 19th August, 2005 at 7pm.
