"The Coaches Player
of the Year Award"
In 1999 the Coaches Player of the Year Award was introduced, and has been
handed out each year since, on the WACA Presentation Day, to the male and
female player who have finished in the top three of all recognised events
during the season on a 3-2-1 basis, regardless of division, format of event,
doubles or singles etc. The only change since the start is the addition of 14
point events at half value.
As Martin Clarke is the event organiser and record keeper each year, he
has been the only player not eligible to win the event. Martin tallies the
points from competition results, just prior to the Presentation Day.
