McBride Cup (for Metropolitan Club champions) and Thorogood Cup (for Country Club champions) at Nedlands from the 1st Aug – enter by 11th July

International Balls:

The Management Committee has given its approval for all WACA Events in the 2003-2004 Calendar to be played with Dawson International balls. This decision follows feedback and requests from players, coaches and managers and a recommendation from the Match Committee. If your Club is hosting an Event and you don’t have International Balls, we can organise them through the Association.

Trophies and Trophy Day – 23rd August:

Thank you to those of you who have already returned perpetual trophies. We need to get these back so that engraving can be organised well before Trophy Day. Merle Barber is coordinating our efforts in this matter. Please return all WACA trophies by 14th July to either our house at 51 Ednah Street, Como or to Como Croquet Club or headquarters at Forrest Park. Please phone me on 9368 2926 if this will present a problem for you.

We look forward to seeing as many players as practicable at Trophy Day at Forrest Park on 23rd August. So book it in your social calendar. More information on how to book will be sent out shortly by the Management Committee.

World Rankings:

Results from an Event are submitted for inclusion in the World (and, currently therefore automatically, the Australian Rankings) if the Event is level play, and there is either one entrant ranked in the World top 200 or two entrants ranked in the top 400.

Spectator Opportunity:

The President’s Second Eights will be played at Como Croquet Club from the 3rd to 6th October 2003. There are likely to be five or six interstate players, so come along and see them play (but barrack for the WA entrants J ).
