MINUTES

 

Chairman:      The President Doug Hall opened the Meeting at 6.35pm

 

Attendees:      Colin Chynoweth, Kay Chynoweth (VP), Brian Hadley (Sec), Connie Shaw.

It was resolved that:

 

677 Previous Minutes:

the Committee endorse the President’s signature of the minutes of the 21st January 2006  Management Meeting as true and correct. (Formal meetings were not held due to high priority Nationals Organising Committee requirements during February and March. Some matters dealt with at informal meetings are covered under matters arising below.)

 

678 Matters Arising from previous meetings:

i) Extreme Weather Policy

the Committee noted the Secretaries report that the WA policy had been accepted by the ACA for use at the 2007 Nationals and  had also been   accepted by nearly all WA Clubs.

 

ii) Thermometers

WACA internal/external thermometers to be provided to all Nationals venues.

 

iii) Laptop

The laptop plus A3 printer for the nationals recording task envisaged in the DSR grant application be purchased two weeks prior to the Nationals

 

iv)  Nationals Review

a) universal positive feedback regarding Nationals Organisation and Tournament Management in Perth thanks and congratulations due to the many volunteers.

b) use of radios for scoring reporting, consistent tournament management decisions, lawn quality and lawn speed initiatives, internet scores service, player assistance and overall catering and reception /dinner arrangements attracting specific appreciative comment. from other States.

c) WACA Administration to progress documented and approved officials meal allowance payments, travel expenses and venue grants asap.

d) record congratulations to the Players, Coach and Team Manager on their very creditable achievements in the Eire Cup. Also to all those who competed in individual events particularly noting Ian Dumergue’s runner Up in the gold medal and Helene Thurston’s Ladies Singles win.

 

v) Sorrento

the Secretary to suggest 10.30am May 24 to the Bowls Club for long delayed meeting.

679 Committee Reports

i) Coaching: the Committee be asked to consider ways in which golf croquet coaching could be included in coaching workshops envisaged for Forrest Park in 2007.

 

ii) Standing Committees General: the Vice President is requested to more frequently attend Standing Committees in the capacity envisaged within the constitution.

680 State Team

                        Janine Hawker accommodation and travel allowance confirmed to be set at $600.

 

681 Lawn Speed Measurement and Hoopsetting

all WA Clubs are encouraged to continue to improve standards in these areas the target settings being a lawn speed of 12 (not less than 10 or more than 14).

Hoops for most WACA recognised events to be set at 312/16ths for major world ranking events at 311/16ths.

 

682 Country Weekend

the President and Vice President to represent WACA Management Committee at the Country Weekend Meeting.

 

683 WACA Car Mileage Allowances

with immediate effect the rate to be set at 50cents per kilometre with no differences based upon engine capacity.

 

684 Golf Croquet

the Selection Committee to decide on a process to identify two male and two female players to represent WA  at the Golf Croquet Nationals in the Hunter Valley NSW in September this year.

 

685 Coach and Referee Accreditation Fees

with immediate effect WACA will pay accreditation fees for Standing Committee recommended Coaches and Referees.

 

686 Coaching Fees and Payments

proposals for new fees and payments dated 14 April 2007 and submitted by the Coaching Committee be approved and be appropriately circulated by the Coaching Committee to member clubs.

                       

687 AGM 2007

on behalf of the Management Committee the Secretary is to submit a notice of motion of a special resolution whereby - Clubs that are not properly constituted legal entities are not accepted or allowed to remain as Members of the Association beyond a reasonable time limit to be set that would enable compliance with the resolution.
