Minutes of the 2006 WACA Annual General Meeting

Held Saturday the 9th September 2006 at the Forrest Park HQ

 

 

 

President:

The President Alan Sands opened the meeting at 9.32am.

Previous Minutes:

Moved J Speers and seconded D Hall the minutes for the 2005 AGM were accepted.

 

Presidents Report:

The written report of Alan Sands highlighting pleasing membership growth, increased DSR funding arrangements, the need for administrative assistance, pressures for constitutional reform, affiliation fee increase requirement, improved liaison with local government, state team and player achievements was accepted. Treasurers Report:

The written report of Brad Maguire conceded a significant turn around for the better in the financial situation of WACA but demonstrated an underlying potential for ongoing operational losses that needed to be addressed was accepted. (See the web site)

 

Standing Committee Reports:

Coaching, Match, Refereeing accepted (see the web site)

 

Sub Committee Reports:

Golf, Handicapping, IT, Publicity, Selection accepted (See the web site)

 

Auditor Appointment:

Resolved that H E Wynne be re-appointed. Alternatively if unavailable the Management Committee make an appointment of an accounting qualified auditor.

Honoraria:

Resolved - “For the WACA Financial Year 2006/2007 honoraria be paid quarterly in arrears at current levels and Council approval is to be sought for any changes to honorarium arrangements in future years”

 

By-Law Ratification:

Ratified - “The current Bylaws be amended to delete clauses 57.2 Handicapping, 57.5 Selection and 57.6 Publicity/Promotion.”

Affiliation Fees:

Resolved - “For the full Financial Year 2006/2007 the WACA Club Affiliation Fee will be $60 per Registered Player with 25% quarterly reductions for late joining new players after the quarter ends  in September 2006 , December 2006 and March 2007.”

 

Handicapping:

A motion from the Augusta Club  “When singles only modification of the WACA Handicapping System (to be known for clarification as WACA Ranking System) comes into effect then WWA will also continue it’s present Handicap System based on the results of single and double 26 point tournament or equivalent standard together with the automatic annual upgrading of 20 to 24 handicap”. was defeated.
