MINUTES
Chairman: The President Doug Hall opened the Meeting
at

702 Appointments:
i) The President
welcomed Eleanor Roberts to the Committee and congratulated her on her
appointment to fill the vacancy for an ordinary member.
ii) The President
welcomed Brad Maguire to the Committee and congratulated him on his appointment
to fill the vacancy of Treasurer.
iii) The Secretary
registered the potential for conflicts of interest arising from Brad’s position
as Treasurer of the Forrest Park Club and received Committee approval for procedural
and attendance guidelines agreed with Brad designed to eliminate conflicts.
It was resolved that:

the Committee endorsed
the President’s signature of the minutes of
704 Donations:
the Committee on
behalf of WACA thank the Cambridge Club for their kind donation to defer the
expenses of the State Golf Croquet Team.
705 Committee Reports:
i) Finance:
a) the
Committee record their thanks to our Administrator Ellen Nicholls for her out
of job description work in reconciling and detailing 2006/7 receipts and
payments prior to the production and
auditing of accounts.
b) the Committee record
their thanks to Brad Maguire for his kind offer to investigate how AGM timescales
could be met that were at risk re the completion of the audit due to the lack
of a Treasurer from October 2006 onwards.
ii) Coaching:
the Committee record
their appreciation of the efforts of Merle Barber of the Halls Head Club who
has worked tirelessly for Coaching for several years and wish her ongoing
playing success and enjoyment following her retirement from the Coaching
Committee.
iii) Refereeing: the
Committee record their support for the Referees Golf Workshop later in the
month and request the President and Secretary each to attend one of the
workshops.
iv) Match that WACA endorse with immediate
effect the ACA’s recommendation for the abolition of the 45 second rule in
association croquet.
706 General Business:
AGM the Committee record their
unanimous opposition to the Como Club’s motion on notice regarding golf croquet
the non integrated aspect of which was considered to be potentially divisive
and contrary to WACA’s strategic governance objectives.
