MINUTES

Chairman:      The President Doug Hall opened the Meeting at 06.30pm..

Attendees:      Colin Chynoweth, Kay Chynoweth (VP), Brian Hadley (Sec), Eleanor Roberts, Ian Tarling, Connie Shaw

838 Previous Minutes:                     

The Committee approved the minutes of the Special Meeting held on the 6^th August with the amendment to minute 837 i) That the Equipment Officer had initiated the WACA  mallet fitting and purchase guidance service at a small charge to clubs.

839 Resignations:

The Committee noted that after 8 years service Barbara Wilson was resigning as Chairman of Selectors and wished to minute its gratitude for the significant contribution Barbara had made in this position and also acknowledged the value of the work she had done in establishing the role of Team Manager in recent years.

840 Final Accounts 2006/7

Despite the recent efforts of Brad Maguire and Eleanor Roberts to complete these and have them audited prior to the AGM it was resolved not to present them as there was insufficient time for the Committee as a whole to exercise due diligence in obtaining answers to Member Club questions that would inevitably arise at next Saturday’s AGM.

841 Golf

i) The Committee resolved to record its gratitude for the kind donations made by the Cambridge, Como and Moorabinda Clubs towards State Team expenses.

ii) Team member expense claims were approved.

842 Vincent Council

The Secretary reported that thanks to WACA’s legal initiative, background political lobbying by Executives of the Forrest Park Club and lobbying by Forrest Park members and the croquet community generally the recent threat to croquet at Forrest Park had been removed.

843 Halls Head

The President and Secretary to seek a meeting with the Halls Head and Mandurah Clubs to ensure that WACA’s support for Mandurah and responses to enquiries were consistent and represented a whole of croquet view for the Mandurah Region
