Club ChampionshipsUpdate

Quite a few Club competitions are underway or are just getting started. Please pass on any results so that I can share with everyone.

Moorabinda Croquet Club

We were treated with glorious weather on Sunday for our Open, B and C Grade GC Club Championship Singles. The B and C Grade event will conclude next weekend due to the large number of entries.

Open Singles

  • Winner: Gary Phipps
  • Runner Up: John Jury

“Moorabinda’s GC Open Singles were played today with the results being decided in the final game. Gary Phipps won with 4 wins and 14 net hoops from John Jury 4 wins and 13 net hoops. Congratulations to all the players on a great day of croquet.”

Mandurah Croquet Club

The Club’s Golf Croquet HCAP Doubles Championship was held on the 1st March, 2024. Lois and Nigel were the winners with Cindy and Johanna a close second. Congratulations and well done to all the players who participated in the tournament. A big “thank you” to Roger for refereeing on the day, to Bill for timekeeping, to Bev O for her sumptuous morning tea and to Cindy who spends tireless hours making sure the courts are in pristine condition!

Visiting Groups

There’s been endless amounts of fun on the lawns of late with many group deciding to use our clubs for their functions. Lot’s of work by our volunteers but it is always so enjoyable to see people having fun experiencing our great game.

Mandurah Croquet Club

“Our Club recently had the pleasure of hosting the “Sparkling Rubies”. After a fun morning of “competitive” hoop scoring, the lovely group of ladies socialised over morning tea. We look forward to seeing them all again on their next visit.”

Forrest Park Croquet Club

“Hosting a croquet party is always fun but it’s even more worthwhile when you know it’s a fundraiser for a good cause. These five, vibrant and very fit, committed individuals are participating in the ‘Ride for Youth’, supporting the mental health of WA’s youth. Go Google it and donate!

All attending enjoyed playing a friendly competition, then a fun ‘closest to the peg’ challenge, with club volunteers Julian, Diana and Lesley guiding the way.

We thank Bevan for choosing Forrest Park Croquet Club to host this event.”

Nedlands

“Future potential stars on and off the croquet lawns.

Students and researchers from the Universities of Western Australia and Curtin, involved in, “The International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research” swapped telescopes for mallets and mastered a new set of skill”
