GC Handicap Cards
Instructions on filling in a GC handicap card
- Print off a card or pick one up from your club. Click here to print off a card.
- Get your ACA Id (4 digit number starting with 6) and your starting index (0 to 1000) and handicap (0 to 12) from the latest list published on the GC Handicap page.
- If you’re not on the list send a request through the Contact Us form to get added to the list.
- Fill in your name, club, ACA Id and starting index (0 to 1000) and handicap (0 to 12) on the front. Use the current date.
- Enter your game details directly after each game and get the entry checked and signed by your opposition.
- Date – Date of the game.
- Event – Name of the event.
- H or L Game – H if it is a handicap game or L for level play.
- S or D Game – S for singles or D for doubles.
- Your Handicap – 0 – 12, either from the front if it’s the first entry or your handicap resulting from the previous game – it changes if you hit a trigger point (up or down).
- Opponents Name(s) – The name or names of the person you just played.
- Opp Hcap – Your opponents handicap(s) (0 – 12). If it’s a doubles match list the handicaps separately (3+9), preferably in the same order as their names.
- Score Game – The game score with your score first and then the oppositions (7-2 if you’ve won and 4-7 if you’ve lost).
- Index Change – This value is positive if you’ve won and negative if you’ve lost. Handicap singles is 10 points either way. Handicap doubles is 5 points. Level play singles and doubles is calculated using the tables on the inside of the card.
- New Index – The addition of your previous index (0 to 1000) and your Index Change from this game (this can increase or decrease). You need to check if you have hit a Trigger Point and ensure your handicap for your next game is correct.
- If your handicap changes it comes into effect immediately. Let the Tournament Manager know your handicap has changed so they can let others know.
- Initial – Get your opponent to check your arithmetic and initial the result.
- It is your responsibility to fill out your card after every game. Make sure your opponents do the same.
- At the end of the tournament you must give the Tournament Manager your final handicap and index points so they can be published on this website
