Life is full of surprises

Caroline and I were wandering around Bright this morning when I spotted the following sign:

Well why not. As we got closer, the club appeared from the surrounding trees and so I decided to pop in and say hello.

When I walked through the gate, Ken quickly jumped into gear and was ready to find a mallet for me. I declined but spent 15 minutes or so having a good yarn to the locals.

Bright has one court but has two half courts permanently set up. With 35 members, it is not always easy to get onto the lawns but they do play 4 times a week and all year round. This did surprise me as Ken, who is also a keen bowler, mentioned that the bowling club closes for 3 months of the year.

I also believe that it is the 2nd oldest club in Victoria and was formed in the same year as Moorabinda.

They had a great turnout and everyone I met were keen to tell me about their connections to WA.
