The GC Champion of Champions has been won by Chris McWhirter (Forrest Park) for his 3rd title. Alan Sands (Como) was the runner-up. Peter Ross (Halls Head) won the Country section for the first time and Chris the Metro section for the 5th time. All the results are on croquetscores.com.

AC Champion of Champions

Eric Ayling (York) won the AC Champion of Champions 26-9 over Martin Clarke (Gosnells) in a clinical game with good breaks and no errors. This is Eric’s 1st Champion of Champions title. Eric was undefeated in winning his 4th Thorogood Trophy for the country section.

Martin won the McBride Cup for the city section for the 1st time. It is also the first by a Gosnells club player. Marty is the 3rd player, after Ian Dumergue and Peter Ross, to have won both city and country titles.

AC State Doubles Results

The AC State Doubles has been won by Alan Sands and Jeff Newcombe (they also won the event last year). The runners-up were Eric Ayling and Sandy Boon. The tournament was held in trying weather conditions at Como on 14-15 July. Go to croquetscores.com for all the game results.

AC Advanced Skills Squad Announced

The Selection Sub-Committee has selected the following players for the AC Advanced Skills Squad: David Squire, Megan Fardon, Sandy Boon, Michael Murphy, James Brown, Kay Swan and Helen Eagle. These players will now be paired with a coach by the State Director of Coaching and begin receiving one-on-one coaching from their allocated coach. Congratulations to all those selected.

2018 GC State Team Announced

Croquetwest is pleased to announce the GC Sate Team who will compete in NSW in September to defend the Interstate Shield they won last year.

The GC State Mixed doubles was won by Brett and Janine McHardy (Forrest Park). Their first win in this event.
