Around the Courts 22nd August

York Country Doubles

The York Country Doubles continues to be a popular event on our calendar with a full field of 16 going to the barriers on the weekend.

Looking back, I found this posted on our website in 2016:

For those waiting for the York Country Doubles’ flyer, I have bad news. The event to be held on 20-21st August is full; without the flyer even being issued. Maybe next year!

The event was run in two blocks with finals being played to determine all finishing positions.

Results at end of the block stage.

This was Brett and Janine’s 4th win in this event following on from their successes in 2021 , 2020 and 2016. I suspect that on each occasion, the winning shot was the same as yesterday, with Janine showing her jumping prowess.

No doubt York will have another full field in 2023.

Marty also sent me a few photos to add to my history collection. I believe he may have even looked in a few cupboards!

The oldest existing country pennant hidden in a cupboard 😉

While in Perth – A beautiful Winter’s day.

Cambridge Croquet Club- 20th August 2022

At Halls Head during the week, Steve Newbold was presented with the President’s award at their AGM.

and the members of Moorabinda were very appreciative of the efforts of the City of Bunbury who added the finishing touches to our carpark!
