A special thanks to Jock the ‘Energizer Man’ for his tireless efforts in setting up the courts, refereeing and resetting hoops, John D for managing the tournament and to Irene and the members of Forrest Park for spoiling us.
It was a super weekend highlighted by the effort of Janine and Brett to go through undefeated and retain the title they won in 2020-21. This is their third win in the event together as a team and they join Peter Brown and Martin Clarke (2013-15) as the only pairs to do so .
Geraldton Pennants Final Night
Nothing like starting play on the final day in fine, warmish weather, followed by wind, a very dark sky, then drizzle and the fear of lightning seen in the distance. Spectator on the day, Margaret Jackson was tracking the storm being able to give us an appropriate time for ending play. Team members played two doubles and one single.
Winners were the Black Team :- Charley MacSween, Colin Murphy, and Vanessa Giltrow.
A close second was the Red Team :- Wendy McDonald, Cheri Cross and Steve Robb.
Equal Match wins, and Black winning by one more game win than Red….see attached results.
