Around the Courts 3rd July

Our players were treated to beautiful conditions over the weekend as they contested two of the major tournaments held each year.

Brain Hadley Star

A field of 16 competed for the Brian Hadley Star held at Cambridge. Invitation to this event is highly sort after and so congratulations to everyone for just making the field. All games were tightly contested with a quarter of the block games being decided on the 13th hoop.

After finishing at the top of their blocks, Marcus, David, Howard, Brian, John, Jenny, Lachlan and Harry progressed to the final stage knockout.

A strong field of 5 players contested the AC Open Singles at Como over the weekend. All games were played in good spirit and our thanks go to the Como Croquet Club for hosting and managing the tournament so expertly.

Alan Sands claimed his third win in Open Singles and was undefeated over the weekend. His previous successes in this event were in 2011 & 2017.

Dunsborough and Districts Country Club

It seems to me that if you are visiting the South West, a visit to the Dunsborough and Districts Country Club should be on the agenda, especially on a Saturday.
